Our November Wedding Book

I can finally share the book that I made with our wedding photos as a keepsake for our families! I was waiting for extended family to see it first before showing it to the rest of the world. Follow the link below to see it on shutterfly and feel free to leave me some comments here too! Enjoy!

Re-living the Moments

I am a preserver of memories. I love to scrapbook, collage, hang pictures, and keep nick-knacks. I always want to remember. I want the feelings and the funny little stories to always make me smile, laugh, or cry. Sometimes flipping through printed (or digital) pictures is just not enough for me. I'm still learning the best and most practical way for me to collect memories. In the past, I have made time lines, videos, and powerpoints. More recently I have chosen to scrapbook and make keepsakes. Last year, I dabbled in printing books and looked into Project Life which I plan to use this year. All of them are amazing ways to create, keep, and pass along.

Tonight, I was blessed to re-live our November wedding through the beautiful photographs taken by my friend Amy Moore, of Amy Moore Photos as I sorted and selected my prints. The details, expressions, and faces came back to me like a flood. It was a magical night. One that I will never forget. And thanks to these beautiful works of art, my family can remember them, too. I love memories and the feelings they come with. I love pictures, picture books, and mementos. I love that soon, I will be holding them all in my hands. I just cant wait.

Wedding Goodness

I just have to brag on these little darlings for a second. These adorable children were the ring-bearer and flower-girl in our wedding. They did a spectacular job and captured the hearts of EVERYONE with their charming smiles, easy-going temperaments, and all around cuteness. I am so blessed to be able to borrow them for a couple days and tote them around with pride. I know that all children have their good days and their bad, but let me tell you, this day was a very good day.

Honeymoon

We honeymooned in beautiful, serene Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The views were simply breathtaking. We enjoyed shopping in the quaint town, seeing the shows in Pigeon Forge each evening, driving out to historic Cades Cove, and relaxing in our lovely Eight Gables Bed & Breakfast suite. There was so much to see and do!

Wedding Day

Our wedding day was simply perfect. I could not have asked for anything better. We were surrounded by so many cherished friends and family. Here are a few of my favorite highlights.

1. Seeing so many friends in one place
2. The horse and carriage ride
3. Pastor Woody's personalized message
4. Hanging out with our amazing wedding party
5. Having the CUTEST flower girl and ring bearer EVER
6. Dancing with my husband and my daddy
7. Seeing everyone enjoying the variety of cakes
8. Being surprised by everyone's dance moves
9. Dancing with "my kids"
10.Group dancing with my IWU peeps

Plan-A-Thon

I know it probably seems like I have fallen off the blogging wagon completely, but I promise I have been busy and working hard lately. I just got back from a quick, last minute trip to Indiana for a Plan-A-Thon with my mom [she is the best]. Since we finally got approved for leave in November, Ronnie and I were able to pick a concrete DATE for our renewal of vows/wedding ceremony! HAPPY! So that sparked the plan-a-thon... You see, it seems that I am already months behind. Bad. So I flew to indy to take care of most of the details in one amazing swoop. Here is what we conquered...
rings- check
venue- check
flowers- check
dress- check
bridesmaids- check!
bridesmaids' dresses- check, check, check
groomsmen- check
tux fitted- check
photographer- check
cake baker- check
planner- check
flower girl- check
ring bearer- check
registries- mostly check
pricing items- check
hotel block- check
hair stylist- in the works
honeymoon- picked out
passport app- turning in tmrw
pricing items- check
invites- proofed!
DJ- check
rehearsal dinner- brainstormed
officiant- check

and oh, so much more. Like I said... Plan-A-Thon... all of that happened in just a matter of 2 weeks. It amazing how things fall into place and how stress free this project has been [so far]. I AM SO EXCITED!

My Amazing Family

I was so happy to have my family so supportive and so involved in our wedding. My mom helped me with so much of the plans for not only the wedding but also for moving and married life in general. Dad played a huge part in the wedding as he walked me down the isle and gave me away and also read a Bible passage. Shelby did an amazing job handling all the music. She played her guitar during the prelude and DJ-ed all the rest. Cori was my go-getter girl. She was by my side all day long helping me with all the little things from zipping my dress to keeping me organized. Ronnie and I both had a good cry when it was time for my family to go home. We love and miss them so much and had a blast with them while they were here with us in San Antonio.

Sea World!

On Saturday, the day after our wedding, Ronnie and I went with my family to Sea World. It was Ronnie's first real outing since his discharge. While he was able to walk a little, he stayed in his wheelchair for most of the time but did take the stairs to see the shows. The shows were so great! We especially loved the show with all of the diving incorporated in along with the animals! We had so much fun and it was great family time. So glad we could enjoy a vacation day with the fam before they had to go.

Our Wedding

12/31/10
Ronnie and I got married on New Years Eve at the chapel in Brooke Army Medical Center in the presence of our families and a few hospital staff. It was a small and intimate occasion but was ever so special. Please enjoy a few of the pictures. For more, please visit my facebook. :)

Piece of Cake

The wedding plans have been coming along nicely since Ronnie has been here. He has spent a lot of time researching venues and vendors while I'm in class or studying. We got things narrowed down pretty well for not having a date yet. We were able to attend a bridal show last week and yesterday we went cake testing all around Southport and Greenwood. It was delicious! We got lots of great and unique ideas and got more than our fill of cake. Mmmmm!
