A broken puzzle

Everyone sees things differently which is hard to understand. We can be standing in the same spot looking at the same view and still see completely different things. Why is that? Everyone sees what they want to see or maybe even what they think they see. It is so hard to see it differently.

But in the end, rejection of another's view only makes a mess. That is not to say that there is no absolute truth in a situation or that truth is relative. Only that everyone's personal view is a little piece of the puzzle coming together from a new understanding.

Is it worth shoving my piece of the puzzle into someone's view?
Or is it better for my piece to get thrown away to make everyone else happy?

In the end, many pieces are lost, shoved under furniture or tainted beyond recognition. They leave an incomplete picture... half of a view. And then we say, "see, it's just like I told you it would look."

Cant we agree to disagree and move on with life? A life without grudges, pushing and shoving, and intollerable and unnecessary pain? noone's idea of the puzzle is perfect unless we ALL work together to put it together. AKA~ EFFORT! Not yelling or accusing or the silent treatment.... Teamwork.

But, alas, you cant force that on anyone either. So the spiral continues.

I could not have asked for more...

This year has been more than I ever could have dreamed and I am sad to see it rolling to a close. I have so many things to be thankful for though.

I have the most amazing roommate EVER. End of story.

My friends are the best. Crazy, but amazing. :P

Life with 9 suite mates was never dull...

My amazing boyfriend moved to Indiana and joined the US Army.

I got to spend a lot of time with my grandparents.

And I got to take classes that I loved at a school that I love.

Like I said... I have A LOT to be thankful for. :)

Songs that Speak

"All these ups and downs, they trip up our good intentions. Nobody said this would be easy, right?" ~Jon McLaughlin

From time to time, there just seems to be a song, or even just a line from a song, that sticks with me through the day. It's almost like the writer knows exacly what I'm thinking. Gotta love that. I believe God brings those songs to mind to remind me that I'm not alone.

Bad Food

Who knew that May term meal plans were so worthless! My meal plan gives me enough meals for one meal a day, which is rather "convenient" since Baldwin Cafeteria is only open for one hour for each meal and my schedule allows me to eat only dinner. The fast food lines and all other forms of food are closed for the summer. Even Baldwin is severely depleted of food. Of the 10 or so available lines, only 4 are open. So far I have had a lovely taste of uncooked chicken, frozen veggies, and unidentifiable (by sight or taste) "meat." Disgusting. My cafeteria meals thus far consist of cerial and icecream. I am doomed to starve this May semester. That or put Meijer and Walmart out of stock...
