Convictions

I have been convicted lately of how I spend my time. Why not be intentional and purposeful? Why allow myself to be sucked into late mornings, PJ days, and hours of mindless television. What good does that do the Kingdom? I am trying my hardest to make every day worth getting up for. I want to accomplish something each day. I want to encourage someone each day. I want to better myself, learn and grow, each day. I am going to be intentional.

Plan-A-Thon

I know it probably seems like I have fallen off the blogging wagon completely, but I promise I have been busy and working hard lately. I just got back from a quick, last minute trip to Indiana for a Plan-A-Thon with my mom [she is the best]. Since we finally got approved for leave in November, Ronnie and I were able to pick a concrete DATE for our renewal of vows/wedding ceremony! HAPPY! So that sparked the plan-a-thon... You see, it seems that I am already months behind. Bad. So I flew to indy to take care of most of the details in one amazing swoop. Here is what we conquered...
rings- check
venue- check
flowers- check
dress- check
bridesmaids- check!
bridesmaids' dresses- check, check, check
groomsmen- check
tux fitted- check
photographer- check
cake baker- check
planner- check
flower girl- check
ring bearer- check
registries- mostly check
pricing items- check
hotel block- check
hair stylist- in the works
honeymoon- picked out
passport app- turning in tmrw
pricing items- check
invites- proofed!
DJ- check
rehearsal dinner- brainstormed
officiant- check

and oh, so much more. Like I said... Plan-A-Thon... all of that happened in just a matter of 2 weeks. It amazing how things fall into place and how stress free this project has been [so far]. I AM SO EXCITED!

Mark Wills

So, I got an unexpected phone call while I was in Indy. Country singer, Mark Wills, was visiting BAMC and my husband was so great to go get me his autograph because I am a huge fan. Ronnie told Mark how bummed I was to not be there so he gave me a call. Unfortunately, I was visiting friends in a hospital so I was out of reception, but it made for a really cool voice mail surprise!

Meeting the Cowboys

Ronnie's dad flew into San Antonio on Tuesday, August 9th to go with Ronnie to meet THE DALLAS COWBOYS. Both have been lifelong fans and when the WFSC provided an opportunity to see them, nothing was going to stand in their way. They had the time of their lives, watched the practice, met dozens of players and the coach, got to tour the Alamo Dome, and managed to snag a ton of signatures on their footballs. So fun.

Just not meant to be....

Tonight was one for the books. Ronnie and I have been in the process of buying a new car. We picked it out last Wednesday. We picked it out knowing that it was "on its way" to the dealer but may not make it there until morning. With the crisis in Japan, so few Honda's are coming to the dealers and we had to jump on the chance. We weren't terribly crushed as they gave us a nice rental for free.

But it did not come in the next day.
Instead, it had to be detoured because of the [almost] Hurricane in the Gulf. So it would be in by Friday or Saturday.

But it didn't.
Instead it was detoured via the rail system and would be possibly five more days.

But, much to our surprise, it came in this evening!
Ronnie and I hurried to the dealership to pick up our new red car.

But...
when we were just two minutes from the dealer, our salesman called with an odd tone in his voice. "I don't know how to say this, but...."
OUR CAR HIT A DEER.
A tech guy went to fill up the car before we signed the papers and on the way, HE HIT A DEER. The car was ruined and we could not purchase it. The only one.

The dealers were really apologetic and everyone was gathered around the computers looking for options, but truth be told, they did not know if or when they could get another red CRV.

They did however have two more that came in the with the shipment in a different color. So we went to look. I liked the "urban titanium" version quite well so we agreed to purchase it despite it being not quite as bold as I had hoped the red would be.

I'm sure we will be quite happy with our new purchase. Obviously, the red version was just not meant to be.
