Gone Country

This years end of the year ResLife Party was themed. The theme? Weddings Murder Mystery. It was our job to dress us as a stereotypical part of the wedding audience. Our role? The Hill Billy Relatives. We were down-right disgusting. From dirt on our face and teased up hair to polar pops and potato chips in our hands. Kelly was so proud of us. Enjoy some laughs courtesy of Kem Hall Staff!!!

My Staff and My Friends

Being an RA has been such a wonderful experience for me this year. It has been stretching and challenging but by far the best job I have EVER had. Many of girls I work with; my staff and my friends; have shown me a greater love and true friendship then I think I have ever experienced. They have touched my heart and molded me more into the image of Christ, and I could never thank them enough for that. They have seen me through the good and the bad.

The Kem 3 East Family

I just wanted to say thanks to this very special group of girls that have just made my life so beautiful this year. I love each one of them so very much and wish them the best as they continue to move forward. I love you beautiful ladies for touching my life and shaping me into who I am today.

22 people short of a unit

The end has finally come. In a way I feel more than ready for it.... ready for classes to be over and for all those ridiculous tests to end. But at the same time, it seems too soon.

I never thought this day would come. I never thought I would be saying goodbye to all these friends. I never thought I would be saying goodbye to IWU. But I am. I have completed 22 of my 25 residents' checkouts and the hall is no longer decorated and full of life. It is rather lonely. While it feels peaceful for a while, it quickly turns to a sad, empty feeling. I move out in just a few days, never to return again as a student. I hope that the friends I have made here will always be as dear as they are now and I pray that the lessons I have learned here transcend time.

I love Indiana Wesleyan University and all the people who have touched my life in this place.

Park days

I know I havent been on here in a while. Things have been crazy busy. But I really cant complain, especially on beautiful days like these....

Unit Ice Cream and Park outing 3/17/08

On One Rainy Night

So, Im not very good at bowling, but that doesnt mean I dont enjoy it. My unit and some of our Scripture brother unit enjoyed a night of cosmic bowling. I think many of us gave up on trying to win and played a game of tricks. We bowled backwards, left handed, spinning, and so many other "creative" ways. I just have to say... I love my job. I get paid to make friends and go on fun outings.... rain or shine. :)

Winter Fun

Unit Ice Skating was a blast. It was even better since my sisters could come. It was certainly a learning experience, but a wonderful time of bonding and memories.

Unit Bowling

So I am officially REALLY bad at bowling. But it was a good time none the less. I love my girls.

De-piling

Or maybe it is just re-piling, but regaurdless, it is the goal of the day. I feel a tad overwhelmed with all the parts of... well... me... lying around everywhere. There are stacks of RA forms to fill out and stacks to turn in; lists of assignments to do and papers to start; piles of clothes, and mail, and trash, and STUFF laying all over my room; and still more unmentioned things piling in the back of my head waiting to burst out.

Jesus, give me strength to sift through this
messiness of life and the will to prioritize as you see fit.

Unit Dinner OUT!

Res Life

Last week was Resident's Life Week. I was so proud of the participation of our unit in the events; Luau, Lodge ball, and of course, the Bowman Boat race.

Introducing....

The ladies of Kem 3 East! I love them so much. This week has been a great first week. It has been packed full of classes, new friends, meetings, and school events. While exhausting, I think we would all agree that it has been both fun and rewarding. I love these girls to pieces...

*exhale*

The past couple weeks have been packed full of.... stuff... RA Training has been virtually non-stop through the days while staff meetings, hall decorating, and paper work have managed to fill the rest of my time. I have pulled many late nights and consequently feel rather drained and exhausted. I know that in the end it will all be worth it, but for now.... I CAN NOT WAIT TO SLEEP IN TOMORROW!

Staff Day Away

Saturday, the Kem staff took a day off just to spend time as a family. We headed to Indy and started our afternoon with a picnic by the canal and some fun pictures [promise to post them when i get copies]. Next we headed to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, a first for me. It was quite fun to see the exhibits, especially the modern art ones. After the museum, we went had coffee at the Creation Cafe before having dinner at CHIPOTLE (love that place). It was a fun, and also very relaxing day. :)

A splash of color

I am up to my ears tonight in arts and crafts. I am working on decorating my unit. I am so excited to get rolling and hope it turns out well. I cant wait for you to see pictures when I'm all done!!!

Kem 3 East.

While it is boring and bland for now, it wont be for long. ;) Stay tuned to see what's coming soon.

Staff Retreat

The IWU Resident Life Staff went for a weekend away this past weekend. We camped in Salamoni for 3 days and 2 nights. The weather was a bit drizzly for most of the weekend but we still had a wonderful time bonding around our fire with our own staff and playing games with our brother dorm, Scripture. I love my Kem girls!

Starting Over

I am officially unpacked back at IWU in suite 308-1. The campus seems a bit lonely and quiet, but I am thankful to have my RA friends around to keep me company. Tomorrow we start our first day of RA training bright and early. I promise to put up pics of my room and my soon-to-be-decorated unit soon!
