Learning the Lingo
So apparently a platoon is larger than a unit and a company is larger than a platoon. What does that meant to me? Diddley-Squat. I am new to this whole Army thing, and so is Ronnie. It has been quite an adjustment for us both. While the six hour time difference is high on the list of complications, it is certainly not the worst thing on the menue. For Ronnie, drunken roommates and precious little oxygen due to chain smoking is a constant frustration. For me, finding out that "the military is not the organized business I thought it was" is a frustration. But in the midst of it all, God is there; we just have to remember to see him. Please pray for Ronnie to find good company ASAP and that he will be able to adjust to life in Germany and life as a soldier with few major inconveniences. Also, pray that God would continue to shower us in his peace as we follow his voice. Thanks!

Full House
MY FAMILY IS HOME!
...though it wasn't the best of flights, at least for the luggage. One bag split open completely damaging a lot of what was in it and causing a tube of toothpaste to smear over the rest of the contents. On top of that, tonight we discovered a lovely container of cinnamon, carefully wrapped and in a zip-lock, exploded in a clothing suitcase. Fun. Delta will be hearing from us. There is no way that all happened from "normal" luggage transfer... something major happened.
Regardless, I am happy to have my family permanently residing in Indiana.
Please pray that the transition will continue to be smooth(er) as we register the girls for school, look for cars, get unpacked, and as Dad starts his new job on Friday.

Date Night!
So, I'm sure you are wondering how in the world Ronnie and I had a "date night" when I am in Indiana and he is in Germany. Well, tonight, Ronnie and I had our first virtual date. We spent a couple hours "together" watching the first season of 'Lost' via Skype web cam. It was a lot of fun and we had lots of time to talk and joke around after. I'm glad I can spend time with him even though he is so far away. :)

Auf Wiedersehen.
It seems like life got really lonely really fast. Ronnie left for Oklahoma on Thursday and my mom left for Honduras yesterday. I find myself with quite a bit of time just to sit and think... and sleep (give me a break I'm sick and have no voice...).
Ronnie left for Germany today. It was a lot sooner than any of us expected. We are new at this Army game and seem to find out the details a little late (like unlimited baggage weight at airports...would have been nice to know that ahead of time). Ronnie's 9 hour plane ride should touch down in Frankfort around 1:30am Indiana time. From there he will go to Vilseck where he will be stationed for an undisclosed amount of time. We are both very excited for this new chapter in his life as we are certain that God has his hand in it. Ronnie looks forward to traveling around Europe of the weekends as do I when i make it over there to visit. We are also scared though. Not in a paralyzing way, just in an adventurous way. This road is unknown to us but we are trusting God to guide every step. Thanks for your prayers as we march on.
